The Blue Merle is astoundingly beautiful. With a silverish blue predominant color that resembles a deep cool pool of water, it is hard not to fall in love with this color when introduced.

The easiest way to describe the blue merle is a “tri color dog who’s black has been diluted to a mottled gray-blue”. The layout of the colors are the same as sable white & tricolor (head markings, predominant color on body, white on mane, legs & belly), however this color has patches throughout. These black patches appear on his body throughout the predominant grey color, making him look “mottled”. Tan coloring is also appearant on the head and throughout.

This color looks amazing on both smooth and rough, and is a great refreshing alternative to the more popular sable white.
