Adopting families acknowledge this purpose by providing safe, secure, affectionate and healthy environments for these Collies. We are a non-profit organization licensed with the State of Georgia and the Department of Agriculture as a State Animal Shelter.
In the last fifteen years, Collie Rescue of Metro Atlanta, Inc. has rescued approximately 1000 collies from local shelters. Imagine "Lassie" in a shelter! As you can tell from these astonishing figures, there is a great need for good adoptive homes for Collies.

On October 18, 1986, three people met for the planning of a rescue club for collies - and thus began the Tri-County Collie Rescue League (TCCR). Since its inception, our non-profit organization has placed over 800 Collies into new homes, predominantly over the tri-county Detroit area (Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties). TCCR remains one of the largest rescue groups in the state. Collie Rescue has many active members, sponsors, and supporters who believe that every Collie needs a good home and family.

Minnesota-Wisconsin Collie Rescue |
Minnesota |
|
Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers. We are dedicated to the safety and welfare of purebred rough and smooth Collies. Animal shelters, humane societies, animal control, and private citizens in both Minnesota and Wisconsin use our services. The typical scenario is that someone contacts a member of our group about a Collie that needs a home; often these dogs are only days, even hours, away from death. We then make arrangements to pick up the Collie and pay adoption and medical fees required by the surrendering organization.
If all medical work has not already been done, we take the Collie to a veterinarian. Before it leaves our care, it must have been vaccinated for rabies and communicable diseases such as distemper and parvo, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworm and treated if infected, and wormed. In addition, we set broken bones and removed bullets and shot from Collies in the program. Our new charge is also brushed out or clipped if the coat is too matted, bathed and treated for fleas and ticks.
Next, each rescue Collie is placed in a foster home to receive care until a suitable adoptive home comes along. The foster caregivers treat each dog as they do their own. A photograph and brief biography is placed on our web sites so that prospective adopters know what Collies we have available.

Our Mission
Thousands of dogs, including the beloved collie that inspired "Lassie", are unloved, unwanted, abused, thrown out and left for dead each year. They are often beaten, neglected and tortured. Others are just lost and desperate to get back to their families.
However they have gotten into these desperate situations, Collie Rescue of Mississippi is dedicated to helping Collies in these circumstances heal and find their own loving families. Collie Rescue of Mississippi was formed in 1997 to help these fine unwanted dogs get a second chance at life and love. We are located in the Jackson, MS area and have helped collies throughout the Southeast. We are a non-profit corporation chartered by the state of Mississippi and recognized by the IRS as a tax exempt organization.
-
We serve these desperate collies through the following activities:
- rescuing collies from shelters, the streets and from owners who no longer want or can keep them.
placing these dogs with new families who wish to care for and love them.
- returning lost dogs to their owners when possible.
- educating the public on responsible pet ownership
- providing sanctuary to abandoned collies who can not find the home they deserve due to age or a physical problem

Tri-State Collie Rescue |

Established...1989 Lewis Center, Ohio
Mission Statement
To end the indiscriminate breeding practices of irresponsible breeders, to educate the public about the lifetime responsibilities of caring for a pet, including the necessity of spaying and neutering, and to promote the return of undying love and devotion collies offer their owners. Too many purebred collies are found as strays, in dog shelters, or in the humane societies. We hope to eliminate the euthanasia of these collies.
"Just when you think there are no angels, a collie comes into your life"
